Collaborating with Tongji University's School of Environment and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Sciyee Technology Achieves Significant Milestones in Water Treatment

Shanghai, November 15, 2024 — Shanghai Sciyee Water Treatment Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sciyee Technology"), a high-tech enterprise located in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai, announced today its significant achievements in the field of electrolytic saltwater chlorination technology. Sciyee Technology, with its strong R&D capabilities, has established a joint R&D team with Tongji University's School of Environment and the Chinese Academy of Sciences to co-develop corrosion-resistant anode coating electrode plates and electrolytic chlorine disinfection technology. It also possesses an electrode quality testing center capable of estimating the service life of electrodes.

Sciyee Technology was the first to apply electrolytic saltwater chlorine production technology to a 100,000-ton modern large-scale tap water plant on Changxing Island, Shanghai, in 2007, and has been operating safely and stably ever since. Since its establishment, the company has manufactured saltwater electrolysis equipment with a maximum single-machine chlorine production capacity of 50kg/h, and has over 500 devices operating safely and stably in more than 200 domestic and international projects.

Sciyee Technology has nearly 30 years of experience in the research and development, design, manufacturing, and sales of water disinfection equipment, relying on the technological and talent advantages of Tongji University's School of Environment. The company has passed the ISO9001-2008 international quality system certification, won the Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Fund Project in 2009, was rated as a Shanghai High-tech Enterprise in 2015, and was listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Equity Exchange in April 2016. Tongji University's School of Environment has been researching electrochemical water treatment technology since 1990, with research areas including saltwater electrolysis for chlorine production, seawater electrolysis for chlorine production, tap water electrolysis disinfection, circulating water electrolysis for anti-scaling and sterilization, sewage electrolysis disinfection, high-efficiency electrolysis electrodes, disinfection by-products, and civilian high-efficiency disinfection products. The school has obtained European invention patents and a number of national invention patents. The developed electrolysis technology products have won the second prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award and the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. The products are used nationwide and exported to Germany, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Sudan, and other countries.

In 2004, Sciyee Technology fully cooperated with Newtec Umwelttechnik GmbH of Germany, introducing advanced equipment manufacturing concepts from Germany and manufacturing a world-class complete set of on-site sodium hypochlorite generation equipment in China. This technology has been widely used in Germany, Russia, Singapore, and China. In Russia, the company is responsible for the equipment general contracting of the brine electrolysis chlorine production project of a water plant with a daily water production of up to 1.3 million tons. The chlorine production scale of the project is 8×40kg/h, and the system has been operating reliably for more than ten years. In China, Shanghai Changxing Water Plant also uses the company's products, with a project chlorine production scale of 4×20kg/h, laying the foundation for the promotion of this technology in China's water plant system. After years of operation, it has been shown that the equipment is reliable in quality, advanced in technology, stable in operation, and the in-depth after-sales service has been well received by users.
