Petrochemical and power plant circulating water anti-fouling/ Seawater system anti-fouling

 

 

The seawater system is mainly used in LNG terminals, sterilization plants, chemical plants, and desalination systems.

In LNG terminals, seawater is used as a heat source for LNG gasification, which is distributed through seawater pipelines to vaporizers (ORV, IFV, etc.) and provides water for the fire protection system. However, the marine organisms in seawater can attach themselves to pipeline walls, causing increased resistance, equipment failure, reduced heat transfer efficiency, and ultimately, affecting system safety. Sodium hypochlorite solution can be used as a biocide to stun or kill the larvae and spores of marine organisms and protect circulating water pipelines and gasifiers.

In power plants, nuclear power plants, and chemical plants, open cooling towers are used to cool circulating water. Algae and salt-loving bacteria can grow in the process, seriously affecting the cooling function of circulating water. Sodium hypochlorite generators produce a sodium hypochlorite solution by electrolyzing seawater, which is then dosed into the circulating water pipeline. The solution can kill marine organisms, inhibit their adsorption and breeding on seawater pipelines, and ensure smooth pipelines and equipment, thus achieving good heat transfer performance of the condenser and heat exchanger.

In seawater desalination systems, reverse osmosis membrane methods are used to extract seawater. However, bacteria, algae, and other microorganisms in seawater can grow and reproduce, causing troubles to water intake facilities and affecting the normal operation of desalination equipment and process pipelines. A sodium hypochlorite generator is used to generate NaClO, which is injected directly into the beach sunken well to kill bacteria, algae, and microorganisms in the seawater.
